FAQ – Häufig gestellte Fragen

Yes, we offer responsibly sourced FSC certified products from sustainably managed forests where available.

We currently do not offer services for limited edition print. As we are focused on global scale through a network of local print partners across the world, we are unable to offer features such as certificates, hand numbering, or branded material in the packaging.

We offer different paper options for our products and collaborate with 100+ professional print partners around the world to obtain the best print results.

  • Inks

Many of the inks we currently use are of archival quality with tremendous durability and fade resistance.

  • Paper

Specific information on the paper options available for each product is available on the product page in our product catalog. For our posters and framed posters, we do offer archival-quality paper. You may be particularly interested in our Archival matte paper poster, Archival matte wooden framed poster, or Archival matte metal framed poster. The archival paper contains no optical brightening agents, making it a very stable, long-lasting substrate.

  • Giclée Prints

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer the option of Giclée printing.

Additional information

As the final outcome might always be subjective to some extent, the best way to know whether the quality of our products is acceptable for you is to see and feel the physical product for yourself. We always recommend you make a test order to see how they look and feel in order to make a better decision.

Yes, our frames come with a hanging kit that allows mounting them both horizontally and vertically, depending on the orientation of your poster.

There is a hook pre-attached (for the larger sizes (60x80cm above and inclusive) there should be 3 sawtooth mechanisms on the back, for the 3 smallest sizes the back of the frames has a mounting kit and an easel/stand) to the back panel of the frame which can be used to mount the frame on a wall.

Please note that screws or nails are not included in the hanging kit.

The following sizes also have an easel back:

  • 5x7in / 13x18cm
  • 6x8in / 15x20cm
  • 8x12in / 21x29cm

The difference is just the thickness of the wooden frame.

  • Slim canvas has a frame that can be 2 cm– or 3 cm thick, depending on what is available in different locations.
  • Thick canvas has always a 4 cm-thick frame.

You can always find more information about our products in the Product Catalogue section of the Gelato Dashboard.

Framed posters from the product catalog will come as two items packaged separately within one package and your customers will need to assemble it.

However, we now offer a Ready-to-Hang feature to mount posters and frames before shipping them to your customers. Your customers can hang it directly onto the wall after receiving it. You can easily upgrade to Ready-to-Hang posters from the dashboard.

You can find more information about Ready-to-Hang posters here: What’s The Difference Between Ready-To-Hang Framed Posters And Framed Posters?

Currently, we do ship posters and frames together but unmounted. Below are some instructions to mount a poster into the frame.

Steps to remove the back of a picture frame:

  1. Remove the packaging from the frame and locate the small metal tabs on the back of the frame
  2. Bend the tabs through 90º
  3. Once all the tabs have been lifted out of the way, the rear of the frame can be removed and the picture inserted into the frame. Replace the back of the frame and bend the tabs back down to hold the frame in position

If the poster is not fitting into the frame, please read here: What should I do if my poster doesn’t fit into the frame?
